(97) The Alpha male started inbreeding and incest

Basic Dimension

Number Archive

Balanced sexual model of inbreeding and outbreeding:

Hominids (20 mya; 300 cc) lived in the trees and did not succumb much to inbreeding and incest because they interchanged juvenile females with groups in their immediate vicinity. This can still be seen by today's chimps and bonobos. In these cases females have different mitochondrial DNA than males which all have about the same mtDNA. (It is also seen with Neanderthals and Aborigines.)

For hominids, the alpha male was the strongest male with genes for optimal protection of the females. He mated with as many females as possible. Basically he had the best genes but still was dealing with a genetic monoculture in the group of higher mammals, only serving the immediate survival of the group:

Unbalanced sexual model of inbreeding:

In the long run his genes would be overrepresented into his descendants which would lead to identical male nuclear DNA (nuDNA):

But these effects are negligible because female nuDNA came from all kinds of tribes in the neighbourhood. Furthermore his time to reign was limited until a stronger male took power. Also the exogamous mantle of the group was permeable allowing females to be fertilized by foreign males. Since, in nature females guard genetic diversity:

Hence, in groups of higher mammals there's a natural counter-force that compensates for genetic monoculture, called genetic variation or genetic diversity:

Balanced sexual model of inbreeding and outbreeding:

Only in mammal groups there is a tension between inbreeding and outbreeding. If no groups are formed, nature is ruled completely by genetic diversity between pairs of individuals:

Assumption 193: The primal law of animal religion is the commandment: thou shalt reproduce in genetic diversity.

Religion and sexual culture

If sexual culture is in equilibrium as in Alpha male mammal groups there is no steering needed from religion (see assumption 259 below). Cultural development (sexual culture) is a flat line in time and place and its time derivative (religion) is zero:

Assumption 259: Human religion.

Sexual culture Y=f(t) is a function of time t. And religion controls sexual culture by a set of higher order time derivatives, from which it gets the information how to alter sexual culture.

This may look somewhat difficult but is very simple to understand. Think about the police (X=t) controlling the speed of cars (Y=f(t)). If cars drive too slow or too fast the police will interfere.

Now, instead of the curve of the speed of cars we take the curve of inbreeding and incest which results from the first humanlike culture [homininae (7 mya; 400cc)]. Then, we see the effects of inbreeding and incest as effects of sexual culture over time.

We know group identity is the aim of every religion, which means tribal self identity of males. For inbreeding cultures this means 'religion' promotes inbreeding. Then, at a rising curve tribal self-identity is promoted by more look-a-likes in the offspring and with a decreasing curve genetic group identity diminishes. Controlling this process of sexual culture over time is called 'religion'.

We are sure the first humanlike religion was 'genetic immortality by inbreeding and incest'. Speech or symbolic thinking was not essential. It is exactly the same religion of Islamic culture. It is simply copying the genetic code of the tribe into the offspring as secure as possible. But this increase finds its limits in too many hereditary diseases such as autosomal recessive diseases. That's why 'religion' orders to capture new women slaves from time to time. But it is more complicated.

Sexual culture is influenced more by displacement in space than in time. Sexual culture of the hominoidae (20-15 mya; 300cc) did not alter in time since they always lived in the forests in the same place and on short interbreeding distances of other groups.

In contrast the first humanlike cultures [homininae (7 mya; 400cc] left the trees in little groups and roamed through the savannas bipedally. Definitely their sexual culture changed into inbreeding and incest because these small and slow groups fell apart in Africa.

From the forests they took with them the habit to exchange juvenile females with other groups (chimps and bonobos). This is the well known hunters-gatherers effect found back also in Neanderthals:

Teeth from ancient human ancestors suggest that females joined new social groups once they reached maturity.

A chemical analysis of australopithecine fossils ranging between roughly 1.8 million and 2.2 million years old from two South African caves finds that teeth thought to belong to females are more likely to have incorporated minerals from a distant region during formation than those from males.

"What that's telling us is that the females grew up somewhere else and they died in the caves," says Julia Lee-Thorp, an archaeological scientist at the University of Oxford, UK.

But on the other hand they enhanced tribal identity beyond the male mitochondrial DNA by closing the exogamous mantle for women as in today's Islam.

We are sure the first humanlike religion was 'genetic immortality in the offspring by inbreeding and incest'. This religion resulted in nowadays Islamic culture. The basic principle is simply to copy the genetic code of the tribe into the offspring as secure as possible.

But a lot of things have changed meanwhile. Effects are confounded in the evolution, since pure tribal endogamy does not exist any longer. Even ethnic endogamy has been outpaced meanwhile and today's Islam consists mainly of religious endogamy, which is a form of exogamy for males but a prison for females, which are not allowed to pass through the endogamous mantle of Islam. And here we see the difference with early hominids and later Neanderthals: Islam blocks juvenile females the way to genetic diversity.

Blocking genetic diversity for females must be seen as a higher order time effect of human religion on sexual culture. Notice, only the first time derivative of sexual culture is natural and realistic. All higher order time derivatives will never become zero (striving to perpetual orgasm in Heaven) and will be magically confounded. As an example in the evolution inbreeding confounded with reincarnation into the (earthly) universe, whereby sufficient inbred bodies had to be made for all ancestors waiting for reincarnation. So, there is no natural relation between inbreeding and reincarnation, but there is irrational relation between inbreeding and the fiction of ancestors to reincarnate into inbred bodies of the offspring.
